Autumn Statement 2013: a few facts and figures

Tomorrow’s papers will be awash with tax rate tables and examples. In the meantime, here are a few at-a-glance facts and figures, some of which were announced today and some we already knew:

The personal allowance will rise to £10,000 from April 2014;
A transferable married couples’ allowance of £1,000 from April 2015
The tax free allowance for CGT will rise to £11,000 for 2014/15 rising to £11,100 for 2015/16 and subsequent years;
£1,000 business rates discount for retail businesses and a doubling of [- -]
